Error code Description
286.02 ADF Backfeed
Page(s) in the exit area accidentally gets
pulled into the reverse path.
286.03 ADF Backside Feed Jam
Leading edge of paper does not reach the
multi-purpose Interval Sensor in time when
page routed through reverse area.
286.05 ADF Backside Jam
Trailing edge of paper does not reach the
multi-purpose Interval Sensor in time when
page routed through reverse area.

29x.xx paper jams

Pull tray 1 out.

Firmly grasp the jammed paper, and then gently pull it out.
Note: Make sure all paper fragments are removed.

Push tray 1 back in.

From the operator panel, touch Continue, jam cleared.
Action
Too many sheets of paper in the ADF exit bin. Remove the sheets
from the ADF exit bin.
Remove the sheet of paper from the ADF. Retry the job. If the
error recurs, then see
page 139.
