Understanding the basic functions of the scanner

The scanner will perform the following functions:
Makes quick copies or sets the printer to perform specific copy jobs
Sends a fax using the printer control panel
Sends a fax to multiple fax destinations at the same time
Scans documents and sends them to your computer, an e‑mail address, or an FTP destination
Scans documents and sends them to another printer (PDF through an FTP)
Using the ADF and scanner glass
Automatic document feeder (ADF)
Use the ADF for multiple‑page documents including
two‑sided (duplex) pages.
Searches for one or more of the following items:
Use name for held or confidential print jobs
Job names for held jobs, excluding confidential print jobs
Profile names
Bookmark container or print job names
USB container or print jpb names for supported file types
Service menus
Scanner glass
Use the scanner glass for single‑page documents, book pages,
small items (such as postcards or photos), transparencies,
photo paper, or thin media (such as magazine clippings).
