COMMUNICATION WITH THE PC

Connecting and separating the dictation
machine and PC
Connecting the dictation machine to the PC
• Press the »ON/OFF« button to switch off the dictation
machine.
• Use the USB cable to connect the dictation machine
directly to the USB interface on the PC.
Note:
Never plug the power pack plug and the USB plug into the
dictation machine at the same time. For use with a PC and
power pack, use the DigtaStation 441 (accessory).
• Press the »ON/OFF« button to switch on the dictation
machine.
– The dictation machine is identified by the PC as a
removable disk. The red recording indicator lights up.
Disconnecting the dictation machine from the PC
• The red recording indicator flashes rapidly while data is
transferred.
• After the data transfer is completed, log the dictation
machine off using the task bar (the "Remove or eject
hardware" icon), i.e. stop the USB-mass memory drive.
• Unlock the USB plug on the Digta (push the narrow sides
together) and pull it out.
– The dictation machine switches off.
Warning:
Disconnect the USB interface via the task bar, as
otherwise the transfer may not be complete.
Do not transfer dictations if the batteries are low,
because you may lose the dictation if the batteries
are flat.
Note:
You can only connect the PC software to one dicta-
tion machine at a time. If you connect a second dic-
tation machine to the USB interface, the PC will not
detect it, i.e. Windows will only display a removable
drive.
