12.4 VIDEO, BUT NO CONTROL, CONTINUED
6. If you are using the KD6i with a Pelco P code control system, verify the baud rate
of the control unit is set at 4800.
7. If you are using the KD6i with a Pelco D code control system, the baud rate of the
control unit must is set at 2400. Verify this value.
8. The baud rate of the KD6i can be selected using the S4 DIP switches.
Verify that the KD6i and the controller are set for the same baud rate.
The same is true of parity (no parity or even parity).
9. Wiring - Make sure the data wiring is connected at the terminal strip in the back
can or the pendant dome. Make sure bare wires are not touching each other.
Make sure the wire insulation is stripped back far enough for a good connection.
10. If multiple scans are in the system, exchange the scan in question with a scan from
another dome. Set the address of the exchange scan to the existing unit. Call up
the scan (camera) using the controller. If control returns, the problem is isolated to
the scan.
11. If a Manchester Code Interface Board is being used, connector P10 must be on
pins 1 & 2 of W8 on the KD6i Video Board. (Refer to the back can installation
manual.) The protocol selection switches, DIP switch S4 on the KD6i, must be in
either AD (for American Dynamics control systems) or Maxpro (for Burle control
systems). The protocol selector switch on the Manchester Code Interface Board in
the top dome must be in the proper position.

12.5 SCAN OPERATES BY ITSELF

Possible
1. Diamond JPD Series Controller – re-center the joystick (OPT
solution:
2. Remove power from all system components and then return power.
3. This can be caused by very noisy control data, incorrect control data, or having the
scan set for the wrong protocol. Verify protocol settings.
