A Distress call should be transmitted, if in the opinion of the
Master, the ship or a person is in distress and requires im-
mediate assistance.

q Confirm no Distress call is being received.
w Lift up the key cover, then push and hold [DISTRESS] for
3 sec. to transmit the Distress call.
• Emergency channel (Channel 70) is automatically selected and
the Distress call is transmitted.
• When no GPS is connected, input your position and UTC time,
if possible.
• While pushing [DISTRESS], the key backlight blinks and count-
down alarm is emitted.
