r Push [ENT] to transmit the Test Acknowledgement call to
the calling station.
• Emergency channel (Channel 70) is automatically selected.
• If Channel 70 is busy, the transceiver stands by until the chan-
nel becomes clear.

q While monitoring Channel 70 and a distress call is received:
• The emergency alarm sounds for 2 minutes after receiving the
distress call from a station.
- Push [CLR] to stop the alarm.
• "Received Distress" appears in the display, then Chan-
nel 16 is automatically selected.

• Continue monitoring Channel 16 as a coast station may require
assistance.
