Interface Configuration (Wireless): VAP
Command Usage
• Use this command for the default interface or any of the seven VAPs configurable per radio
interface.
• Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is implemented in this device to prevent unauthorized
access to your wireless network. For more secure data transmissions, enable WEP with this
command, and set at least one static WEP key with the key command.
• The WEP settings must be the same on each client in your wireless network.
• Note that WEP protects data transmitted between wireless nodes, but does not protect any
transmissions over your wired network or over the Internet.
• Although WEP keys are not needed for WPA, you must enable WEP encryption in order to
enable all types of encryption in the access point.
