2-16 Installation
A device driver is necessary for the 3155 software to communicate to
the PXI boards. In Windows NT, however, the 3155 installation pack-
age cannot automatically install device drivers for PXI devices. To
assign a driver to a device, Windows refers to a .INF file. The .INF
file provides instructions for Windows as to which driver files to install
and which registry entries to insert. To install a driver for a board
containing a PXI device, complete the following steps:
1. Power down your computer and PXI chassis.
2. Insert the PXI 3155 board into a free PXI slot.
Power on your PXI chassis.
3.
Power on your computer (if not an embedded computer).
4.
Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive and browse the Drivers
5.
directory to find the NT4drv subfolder.
From within the NT4drv folder double click on the RegDrv.bat
6.
file to complete the installation process.
In general, all you have to do is insert the supplied CD into your CD
drive and a GUI (Graphical User Interface) as shown in Figure 2-16
will pop-up on your screen. If the GUI doesn't pop-up on your screen
Invoke Run and type:
N:\Autorun.exe (where N is your CD drive letter)
