on the graph. The editing menu is explained in the following para-
graphs.
Autoline
Autoline mode lets you draw straight-line segments. To draw a line
using this command click the left mouse button at the start point.
Click again at the next point and then click on the right mouse button
to terminate this operation.
Sketch
The Sketch command lets you draw free-hand segments. To draw a
line using this command click and hold the left mouse button at the
start point. Release the mouse button where you want to stop. Then
click on the right mouse button to terminate this operation.
Smooth
The Smooth command lets you smooth out rough transitions in your
waveform. This is done mathematically by multiplying waveform co-
ordinates by the non-linear portion of a cubic equation.
The Smooth operation is done on section of the waveform bound by
anchors. Place anchors to the left and right of your waveform section
and select the Smooth command. The waveform changes its shape
immediately to follow the mathematical pattern of a cubic curve.
Note that small sections with fast transitions, when combined with the
smooth function tends to generate larger transitions. Therefore, be
sure to omit such sections of the waveform when using this opera-
tion.

Filter

The Filter function uses a moving average. This is done by recalcu-
lating each point as an average of a symmetrical number of adjacent
points. When you select the Filter command, a dialog box pops up,
letting you program the filter spacing in units of adjacent points. You
can filter the entire waveform, or you may chose to filter a section of
the waveform by placing the anchors as boundaries.
Invert
The Invert function lets you invert entire waveforms or marked sec-
tions of waveforms. The waveform is inverted about the horizantal
axis bar.
Unmark
The Unmark function removes the anchors from the waveform
screen and resets them to point 0 and to the last waveform point.
