Start Phase – The start phase parameter defines the angle of which
the sine will start. The example shows 0° start phase.
Power – Sine to the power of 1 generates a normal sine. The power
range is from 1 through 9. Raising a sine to a higher power creates
waveforms with progressively steeper rise times. Even powered si-
nes have positive values only.

Wavelength

Specifies the number of points on the horizontal FM axis. This
number represents the number of FM data points or independent
frequencies that the 3155 will step through in FM mode.

Deviation

Specifies the total deviation from the carrier frequency possible by
an arbitrary FM waveform. Carrier frequency plus half the deviation
may not exceed 100MS/s. Carrier frequency minus half the devia-
tion must be greater than Zero.

Marker Position

Arbitrary FM mode can have "markers", which are sync pulses, out-
put via the front panel or PXIbus backplane. These can be used to
synchronize the 3155's arbitrary FM pattern with external devices.
Markers may be placed at one or more frequency modulation points
anywhere on the arbitrary FM waveform profile.
