Markingpositions t o playagainlater
It is possible to mark positions (up to 999 points) where you
want to play back once again later, and start playback from a
marked position. Marking onto DVD-RAM/RW/R discs when
recording is helpful to locate a start point when you play back
the discs later.
I Mark positions.
During playback, press
MARl( at positions you want
to mark.
• "MARK" appears on the TV
screen. You can easily locate
the marked positions using
I_1_1 or I_1_1 when you play
back the disc.

Deletethe markedpositions.
While paused, press I_1_1or
_-I_1 to locate a marked
position you want to delete,
then press MARl(.
• Crossed "MARK" appears on
the TV screen, and the marked
position is deleted.

NOTES:
• When a monaural program or bilingual program changes to a
stereo program while recording, a mark signal is automatically
recorded.
• When a DVD-R/RW (Video mode) disc is finalized, marked
points marked before finalizing will be deleted, and programs
will be divided automatically into "chapters" approximately
every 5 minutes. (z-_ _ pg. 102, "Finalize a disc")
Checking t hetimeinformation
You can change the counter display on the front display panel
and TV screen to check disc remaining time (only discs before
finalizing).
During playback
Each press of DISPLAY changes the display as follows:
Clock time (front display panel only) -*" Current title elapsed
time -*" Disc remaining time -'_ (back to the beginning)
• Clock time is displayed only when a recordable disc is played.
In stop mode or during playback
• In FR mode, it is possible to set recording time in detail using
b'> (_-_- pg. 59, "Free Rate Function")
• [t is not possible to switch the recording mode during playback
or while recording.
Switching TimeIndication
You can check time information of an audio CD and a Video
CD/SVCD on the front display panel and the TV screen.
Each press of DISPLAY changes the time indication as follows:
During playback
Current track elapsed time -'_ Current track remaining time -'_
Total elapsed time -*" Total remaining time -*" (back to the
beginning)
In stop mode
0:00 -*" Playback time of track 1 -*" 0:00 -*" Total length of a disc
-*" (back to the beginning)

When a PBC-compatible Video CD/SVCD disc is loaded,
