RECORDING
SYMPTOM . POSSIBLE C AUSE I CORRECTIVE A CTION
1. The desired program cannot be
recorded.
2. Recording an(] editing cannot be
made.
• The channel position does not
correspond to that in the receiving area.
• No disc or a disc not being compatible
with the unit is loaded.
• The disc loaded is not formatted.
• A finalized DVD-R disc is loaded.
Set the correct channel position for the
receiving broadcast. (_-u" pg. 26)
Load a recordable disc on the unit.

Format the disc. (z_ _ pg. 101 )
Recording and editing cannot be made on
finalized discs. (z4" pg. 102) Load a
recordable disc on the unit.
Clear unnecessary programs on the disc or

• The disc is full or does not have enough
space for the program to be recorded.
• The protect tab on the DVD-RAM
cartridge is set to the protect position.
• Date and time is not correct.
• Power failure occurred before the timer

correspond to that in the receiving area.
• The DBS receiver is not connected
properly to this unit.

1. Malfunction occurs on the unit. Press L)/[ to turn off the unit, press and
-- hold Lb/I, then press • for two seconds or
more.
2. ]he Disc. Tray doesn't ()pen, R_ke out the disc in following ways,
• Connect an(] the disconnect the power
cord from the main outlet.
• Press an(:] hold the open/dose button
(_) on the unit until the disc tray opens.

• (_:lose the disc tray by pressing the open/
close button after taking out the disc.
(the main power shuts down.)
ATTENTION:
]his unit contains microcomputers. External electronic noise or interference could cause malfunctioning. In such cases, switdl the
unit off and unplug the mains power cord. Then plug it in again and turn the unit on. Bike out the disc. After checking the disc,
operate the unit as usual.
