Abnormal X-cutter operation.
a. Defective X-cutter position switch.
b. Defective X-cutter DC motor.
c. Defective X-cutter.
Problem Check Item
a. Defective X- The X-cutter rotary cutter is
cutter position at the left or right end but
switch neither Pin 2 nor 3 is
continuous with Pin 1?
Alternatively, both Pin 2 and 3
are continuous with Pin 1?
Continuity between Pins 1, 2,
and 3 of the X-cutter harness
assy?
During X-cutter operation, do
main CPU port P53 (Pin 52)
and port P54 (Pin 53) switch
to High level?
When main CPU port P53
(Pin 52) and port P54 (Pin
53) are at Low level, is this
recognized by the main
CPU?
b. Defective X- When output is normal from
cutter DC motor the main CPU#1 output ports
P15 to P17 (Pin 22 to Pin 24
[See Table 5.5-1]), does the
output between OUT1 (Pin 1)
and OUT2 (Pin 3) of the DC
motor driver #4 changes
alternatively between 0 V and
+24 V?
Continuity between Pins 4
and 5 of the X-cutter harness
assy?
Normal resistance (approx.
30 ohms) between Pins 4
and 5 of the X-cutter harness
assy (DC motor resistance
value)?
c. Defective X- Does the rotary cutter rotate
cutter. when the DC motor rotates?
Cutting of only halfway?
Cause
Defective X-cutter unit. Replace the X-cutter
unit.
Defective X-cutter Replace the X-cutter
harness assy. harness assy.
Defective pull-up Replace Main PCB
resistors R20 and R22. assy.
Defective main CPU#1. Replace Main PCB
assy.
Defective DC motor Replace Main PCB
driver #4. assy.
Defective X-cutter Replace the X-cutter
harness assy. harness assy.
Defective X-cutter unit. Replace the X-cutter
unit.
Defective X-cutter unit. Replace the X-cutter
unit.
Defective X-cutter unit. Replace the X-cutter
unit.
Metal or other foreign Remove the foreign
matter in the laminated matter.
