Cisco SA 500 Series Security Appliances Administration Guide
You can download a 60-day Trial License for the IPS License. This license is
NOTE
not offered for SSL VPN.
Click Administration on the menu bar, and then click License Management in the
navigation tree.
—OR—From the Getting Started (Advanced) page, under Intrusion Prevention
System, click Install License.
The License Management page appears.
The License Management area lists the features for the device, the current status
of the license for that feature, and the actions that you can perform.
• Feature: Displays the available licenses. Click the Feature link to see a
description of the license.
• Status: Shows if the license is installed or not installed.
- If you are installing the security appliance for the first time, the IPS
license status is not installed.
- For the SSL VPN license, 2 licenses are installed by default.
Licenses cannot be transferred or revoked, once they are installed.
• Installed: Current number of licenses installed.
• Max: Maximum number of licenses supported.
• Expiration: Date on which the license expires. SSL VPN licenses always
display a value of Never, since they do not expire. IPS licenses must be
renewed each year.
• Action: Use to perform a next step action. Depending on what you want to
do, click one of these links:
- Add Seats: Upgrade the license to include more users.
- Install: Install and activate the license.
- Free Trial: Download a 60-day Trial License from Cisco.com. (applies
only to IPS licenses).
- Renew: Renew your existing license if your license is about to expire or
has already expired.
