Cisco SA 500 Series Security Appliances Administration Guide
The security appliance provides QoS-based IEEE 802. 1 p class of service (CoS)
values for implementing Quality of Service at the Media Access Control level. This
QoS method specifies a priority value of between 0 and 7 that can be used to
differentiate traffic and give preference to higher-priority traffic, such as telephone
calls.

Enabling 802.1p

Before you can configure the 802. 1 p QoS settings, you must enable this feature.
Click Networking on the menu bar, and then click 802.1p Configuration in the
navigation tree.
Check the IEEE 802.1p Enable box to enable 802. 1 p quality of service. Uncheck
the box to disable this feature.
Click Apply to save your settings, or click Reset to revert to the saved settings.

802.1p Mapping

Use the 802. 1 p to Queue Mapping page to map each 802. 1 p priority value to a
QoS queue (Lowest Priority to High Priority).
You can configure mappings only if you enabled 802. 1 p QoS on the 802. 1 p
Configuration page. See
Click Networking on the menu bar, and then click 802.1p Mapping in the
navigation tree.
The 802. 1 p to Queue Mapping page appears, displaying a table where you can
map each 802. 1 p priority value to a transmit queue.
For each 802. 1 p priority value (Priority 0, Priority 1, and so on), use the drop-down
list to choose the corresponding queue: Lowest, Low, Medium or High.
