Keystrokes: [SHIFT] [NEW TEXT]
Entry Conditions: None
Operation: This function moves you into the 41's text
editor. When executed the CO-OP 41 will prompt for the
name of the file to store the text to.
[NAME?
After you have entered the file name, the CO-OP 41 will
prompt for the approximate number of words that will be
contained in the file (6 characters per word).
[WORDS?
You are now in the editor. Key in your text, pressing
to declare a new line of text (everything you type before
pressing the
key will appear on one line when
plotted. There is no limit to how long you make your
lines. When you are finished do not press the
key,
instead press the
key and your text file will be saved
(see the HP-41CX manual page 117 for more details).
Remarks: To print the file that you created with this
function then use the PRINT TEXT or VARY TEXT
function.
Note:
The NEW TEXT function creates a file in the
HP-41's extended memory, and leaves the
#9
extended memory selected. In order to plot any
points after this function has been run, you need
to run the FILE program to recall the job.
