3 Product configuration
3.1 Modules of the medical ceiling supply units
Medical ceiling supply units were developed as a modular system and enable an individual con-
figuration in accordance with specific requirements. A basic configuration of the ceiling supply
units consists of the following modules:
• Ceiling attachment
The ceiling attachment is anchored to the ceiling. All of the following elements of the ceiling
supply units are secured to this.
• Ceiling cover
The ceiling cover is located below the ceiling or intermediate ceiling.
• Fixation flange with spacer
The fixation flange with spacer is attached to the ceiling cover. The spacer is variable in
length (depending on the room height). The spacer may have either beams (single or double
arms) or a suspension tube (column system) mounted directly.
• Beam
Beams are mounted on spacer and can be configured as single or double arms in various
versions. The ENERGY is a special arm version which has a motorised beam.
• Suspension tube
The suspension tube is either mounted to a spacer or to beams and enables the mounting of
various distributor modules.
• Distributor module
Distributor modules are secured to the suspension tube and offer, depending on the version
selected, configurable mounting points. The distributor modules SLIM, MEZZO, TWIN and
SKY ADV are equipped with the newly developed EPoS rail which enables quick configura-
tion of mounting points. In conjunction with the TWIN distributor module, there is a special
arm version with a CARGOLIFT lifting system via which anaesthesia machines or endoscopy
trolleys can be lifted.
• Control handles
Control handles are attached to the distributor modules and enable the adjustment of the
arms via touch sensors. The control handle has the appropriate buttons for the height adjust-
ment of the arms ENERGY and CARGOLIFT.

Getinge recommends including additional load capacity when configuring the
product. This enables an expansion of the ceiling supply units at a later time.
