Once the site for your glove box is properly prepared, you are ready to unpack,
inspect, install, and validate performance of your system. Read this chapter to
learn how to:
Unpack and move the glove box.
Set up the glove box with the proper supporting structure and work surface.
Add the oil and if required connect an exhaust system to the pressure relief
bubbler.
Install the gloves.
Connect the electrical supply.
Connect the plumbing lines for gas, vacuum, and gas purifiers or drying
trains.
Validate performance of the glove box.
Each Protector Glove Box model weighs as follows:
!
Fiberglass, 350 lbs/157 kg.
Stainless, 500 lbs/225 kg.
Stainless Doublewide, 1000 lbs/450 kg.
The shipping container allows for lifting with a mechanical lift
truck or floor jack. If you must lift the glove box manually,
follow safe-lifting guidelines. Do not lift by the upper sheet
metal façade and front panel as damage can occur to the glove
box liner.
