3. Perform the biofeedback training in accordance with the selected or created train-
ing protocol.
4. Complete the training, remove the electrodes and sensors from patient, generate
and print the training report and switch off the device in accordance with section
3.2.1.
3.2.6 HRV Tests
The Poly-Spectrum.NET/Rhythm software module is used to perform heart rate varia-
bility (HRV) . The detailed information about this function is described in the Poly-
Spectrum.NET user manual.
Before start testing study the Poly-Spectrum.NET user manual.
Connect the cable for one ECG channel (the red touch-proof connector to the "ECG-"
jack, the yellow connector to the "ECG+" jack, the black connector to the ground jack)
to the electronic unit of the digital system. Place clamp ECG electrodes according to
the color marking of lead cables. If the analysis of respiratory rhythm is performed,
connect the respiratory sensor to the "therm" jack.
Run the Poly-Spectrum.NET software and select the Neuron-Spectrum-61, Neuron-
Spectrum-62, Neuron-Spectrum-63, Neuron-Spectrum-64, Neuron-Spectrum-65 sys-
tem with the corresponding serial number.
HRV Testing
1.
Prepare a patient for examination. He/she should be lying on the back with
closed eyes and relaxed. Say the patient that he/she should rise and be in the upright
position after a while when you ask to do it.
2.
Place the clamp electrodes: the red one - on the lower third of right forearm, the
yellow one – on the lower third of left forearm, the black one – on the upper third of
right forearm or on the lower third of right shin. Before placing the electrodes moisture
their working surface with electrode liquid or put a thin layer of conductive gel on
them. Place the respiratory sensor (if necessary) in compliance with its technical
manual.
3.
Start a new exam in the Poly-Spectrum.NET program. Create a new patient card
or select the created one (see the user manual for Poly-Spectrum.NET software). In
the Exam parameters dialog box select the exam type Heart Rate Variability (HRV).
The template should be used by default. Start ECG and respiratory monitoring, be-
come certain that the signal quality is enough for steady detection of QRS complexes
and respiratory waves. If the quality is not sufficient, apply conductive liquid or gel on
the skin under electrodes once more and switch on signal filters. To get good signal in
patients with vertical QRS axis replace the yellow electrode on the lower third of left
shin.
