Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is provided by fulfillment of IEC 60601-1-2:2014
standard requirements.
The systems are intended for operation in electromagnetic environment, which special
features are specified in Annex 2.
Portable and mobile RF communication equipment can affect the system operation.
The use of equipment not listed in Table 8 of this technical manual may result in in-
creased emission and system decreased immunity.
The computer equipment used with the system should correspond to the safety re-
quirements for medical devices (IEC 60601-1) or it should be connected via isolation
transformer (a special power supply unit for portable computers) that satisfies the
mentioned requirements.
As for safety, the system satisfies IEC 60601-1:2005/2012, IEC 60601-2-26:2012, IEC
60601-2-40:2016 and ISO 80601-2-61:2017 requirements. As for protection against
electric shock the system is referred to Class I according to IEC 60601-1. The elec-
tronic unit of digital system is supplied by regulated power supply through USB inter-
face; it has double isolation and CF type work parts according to IEC 60601-1.
1.2. Principle of Operation
The operation of the system is performed under the control of IBM PC with a mouse,
keyboard, laser or jet printer and installed licensed Windows OS (version 8.1 and
above). The Neuron-Spectrum.NET (version 2.0.22.Х) and Poly-Spectrum.NET (ver-
sion 5.3.2.X) software is also used. The X in the version number means the software
build number responsible for error correction and operability improvement without
adding new functional.
The mode of operation of the system is based on the acquisition and input of brain bio
potentials and other physiological signals into PC.
The block diagram of the system electronic units for Neuron-Spectrum-61, Neuron-
Spectrum-62, Neuron-Spectrum-63, Neuron-Spectrum-64, Neuron-Spectrum-65 is
shown in Fig. 1.
