Neuron-Spectrum-61, 62, 63, 64, 65 (Technical Manual)
3. LAN transformer is not required if only the electronic unit and PhS-1 LED photic
stimulator are used from the patient area (Fig. 20). A specialist is prohibited to
touch a patient simultaneously with the equipment and cables in the specialist area
and also the equipment in the patent area.
4. The equipment (including Neuron-Spectrum electronic unit) connected to USB hub
(Fig. 20) can be connected directly to the system unit. But in this case the equip-
ment must be connected to USB connectors on one and the same controller. The
connection to USB connectors on the monitor and keyboard is not allowed.
5. USB/LAN hub should be used instead of USB hub (Fig. 22) if the equipment in the
specialist and patient area is placed more than 3 meters from each other.
The equipment used for this case more frequently is shown in Fig. 22. If the
adapter for high-resolution pattern stimulator and/or auditory stimulator unit should
be connected the installation of LAN transformer(s) in the specialist area accord-
ing to Fig. 21 is required.
Fig. 22. Schematics of equipment placement when USB/LAN hub is used
6. If the notebook PC instead of system unit and monitor is used, see the schematics
in Fig. 23 during placement. To connect the notebook power supply unit to the
transformer use cable IEC C14 – Schuko type F socket (it is included in the deliv-
ery set). The transformer is not required, if medical power supplier satisfying the
safety requirements for medical devices (IEC 60601-1) is used in the notebook.
Only a part of the whole equipment is shown in Fig. 23. The rest equipment is con-
nected according to Fig. 21 (the replacement of the system unit and monitor by a
notebook PC should be taken into account).
