The display
window
brightness
can be adjusted
to the following
four
levels:
"DIM-OFF",
"DIMMER
l",
"DIMMER
2",
and
"DIMMER
3".
"DIM-OFF"
is the brightest
level.
When
"DIMMER
3" is selected,
the display
is darkest,
the
illumination
of CD tray and slot of MD disc drive goes out, and
the spectrum
analyzer
does not move.

Setting
this unit to power
economizing
mode
reduces
power
consumption
as follows.
. When the power shuts off, all indications
of the display window
are turned
off.
(Even the clock is not displayed.
When the AC cord is connected
to the AC outlet, only the red indicator below the POWER button
lights. Note, however,
that the demo display will appear unless
the clock of the unit is set. For the demo display, see page 6.)
If the tape,
CD, and MD are stopped
and there
is no audio
input from any connected
external
equipment
for 10 minutes,
the power shuts off.
When
the power
turns on by timer
recording
(page 31 ), the
display window brightness
level is set to "DIMMER
3", all button
lamps are off, and the volume
is set to the minimum
level.
The display
window
brightens
only when
the unit is being
operated.
When the unit has not been operated
for 10 seconds,
the brightness
level switches
to the level chosen
by the
"DIM
MODE"
setting.
(If the brightness
level is set to "DIM-OFF",
the brightness
does
not change,
When the level is "DIMMER
3", the button lamps
are also turned off.)

mode status will be displayed.
If the power-economizing
mode is OFF: ECO OFF
If the power-economizing
mode is ON: ECO ON
Within 4 seconds, turn MULTI JOG to switch the
power-economizing
mode on or off.

When "ON" is selected
After 4 seconds,
the power-economizing
mode selected
will be
set automatically.
Or, if you press ENTER within 4 seconds, the power-economizing
mode selected
will be set.

After timer recording
(page 31) with the power-economizing
mode
set to ON, if you turn on the power, the display window brightness
level is set to
"DIMMER
3", all button
lamps
are off, and the
volume
is set to the minimum
level.
If necessary,
adjust
the
volume
and the display window
brightness
level again.
