Installation Procedure
Caution: When installing the power supply, take great care to avoid bumping the power supply into
the CPU board on the right or into the I/O boards behind the power supply.
Important: During the installation procedure, make sure all connections are secure.
To install an Optima 2 RU power supply:
1. Position the replacement power supply inside the enclosure with the right end angled behind the
Backplane as far as possible. Keep the power supply slightly lifted to avoid the double-bridge
guides during this step and the next.
2.
Carefully maneuver the power supply into the enclosure until it is completely behind the Backplane
(FIG. 64).

Lower the power supply until the plate is flat on the enclosure floor and rests against the angle
bracket attached to the top cover of the enclosure. Line up the two visible tabs on the power supply
mount to the right of the double-bridge guides on the floor of the enclosure.
4. Slide the power supply to the left until all three tabs on the power supply mount fit firmly into the
double-bridge guides as far as they will go (FIG. 65). The screw holes in the power supply plate and
the angle bracket must be lined up.
