Waxing
and polishing
W ax ing
Waxi ng protects t he pai nt. When water no lo nger clearly beads o n
the clean pain t you should renew your vehicle's protection by
apply ing a good hard wax polish .
Even if you regularly use a w ax proce ss in the car wash , we recom -
mend protecting the paint at least twice per year using hard wax.
It is much easier to clea n i nsects and ot her debris fro m fr eshly
wax ed paint.
Polishing
Polishing is necessary on ly if the paint on your vehic le has lost its
shi ne and if you cannot achieve a ny gloss wi t h wax mater ials .
If the polish you use does not contain any preservative ingred ients,
you w ill have t o wax the paint aft erwa rds.

Trim strips
For environme nt al reaso ns, Au di f abr icat es t he br ight trim stri ps
and trim pieces from pure chromium-free
aluminum.
Dirt and marks on the tr im str ips sho uld be removed with a pH-
balanced clean ing agent (do not use a chrome cleaner). Paint
polishes are also not suitable for the care of decorative parts and
trim strips . Alka line cleaners wh ich are often used before entering
car was hes can cause dul l or mi lky spots when t hey dry.
Authorized Audi dea lers carry cleaning products wh ich have been
tested for use on your vehicle and are not harmful to the envi ron -
ment.

Plastic
and vinyl
Use a clean, da mp cloth o r spo nge to remove d ust and lig ht surface
dirt . For other soil , use a lukewarm all -purpose cleaning solution or
a mi ld sadd le soap for viny l t rim. Paint care products are not suit-
able for plastic and vinyl.
