Parking system

WARNING
• The navigation system display cannot show, or cannot
adequately show, certain objects (such as small posts or grating ),
recesses in the ground and protruding parts on another car.
•
Only use the rearview camera to assist you if it shows a good,
clear picture . For example, the image may be affected by the sun
shining into the lens, dirt on the lens or if there is a defect . •

Reverse parking
Use parking mode 7 to help you when parking in a garage
or parking spot.

Turn the steering wheel until the orange orientation lines

appear in the parking spot. Use the markings

help you estimate the distance from an obstacle. Each
marking corresponds to 1 meter.
While driving in reverse gear, adjust the steering wheel
angle to fit the parking space with the aid of the orange
orientation lines =>

should stop driving in reverse when the red orientat ion

- Align your vehicle to correspond with the blue area
::::::, fig. 78. The blue area represents an extension of the
vehicle's outline by approximately 5 m to the rear. The
distance of the differently shaded areas to the vehicle are
approximately 1, 2 and 5 meters.

WARNING
• The rearview camera does not show the entire area behind the
vehicle => page 96, fig. 76. Watch out especially for small children
and animals because the rearview camera cannot always detect
them .
•
Please note that objects not touching the ground can appear to
be farther away than they really are (for example, the bumper of a
vehicle or the rear of a truck). In this case, you should not use the
orientation lines to help with parking .
• Maintain plenty of distance from obstacles so that your outside
mirror or a corner of your vehicle does not come into contact with
them .
