Ink residue at the nozzle edges after purge cycle!
Damage to the print heads due to insufficient cleaning
Wipe all the print heads wet after the long purge cycle.
1. Initiate the long purge cycle (→ Page 133 / Carrying out the long purge
cycle).
2. Wipe all the print heads wet (→ Page 134 / Wiping print heads wet).
3. Print a test image.
4. Begin with printing within the next half an hour. The print should fulfill
at least the following parameters:
Duration: min. 20 min
Width: 2 m
Material: Kapa
Quality: 4-pass bidirectional
Tone: Dark images
5. If an additional long purge cycle is carried out on the same day, wipe at
least the YM and MY print heads wet afterwards.
12.3.2 Beginning of shift after a weekend or a longer shutdown
1. Create a test image with the date and serial number of the printer.
Warranty and guarantee claims can only be made if the test
images have been retained.
2. Archive test image (→ Page 141 / Documentation of the print head state).

12.4 Preparatory work at the cleaning access point

12.4.1 Opening/closing cleaning access point
The print heads are accessed for wiping and suction via the cleaning access
point. Before beginning work, the cleaning access point must be prepared as
follows:
✔ The print carriage stands in the reference position.
Contact with ink!
Health hazard
Wear protective gloves.
Wear safety goggles.
Avoid allowing ink to come into contact with skin and eyes.
