This is a service technician replaceable part only.

Removing the system board

Prerequisites
CAUTION:
If you are using the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) with an encryption key, you may be prompted
to create a recovery key during program or System Setup. Be sure to create and safely store this recovery key.
If you replace this system board, you must supply the recovery key when you restart your system or program
before you can access the encrypted data on your drives.

Air shroud top cover
c.
Cooling fan cage assembly

Air shroud

GPU air shroud
NOTE:
The GPU air shroud can be removed only after the full length expansion card risers have been removed.

f. Disconnect the cables from the PEM.

Processor expansion module (PEM)

Expansion card risers

Riser air shroud

Power distribution board (PDB)
k.
Side wall bracket

Memory modules

Processor and heat sink module from the system board

Internal USB card (if installed)
o.
OCP card (if installed)

Power supply units (PSU)
q. Disconnect all the cables from the system board and make note of all the cable connections.
NOTE:
See
cable routing
CAUTION:
Take care not to damage the system identification button while removing the system board
from the system.
CAUTION:
Do not lift the system board by holding a memory module, processor, or other components.
Steps
1. Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board towards the front of the system.
2. At a tilted angle, lift the system board out of the chassis.
