Solenoid

SOLENOID
See General Warnings on page 1-1.
The solenoid is located on the driver side of the electrical component mounting plate.

TESTING THE SOLENOID

7 – Solenoid Activating Coil

SOLENOID REMOVAL

1.
Disconnect the batteries and discharge the controller. See Disconnecting the Batteries – Electric Vehicles,
Section 1, Page 1-4.
2.
Lift cargo bed.
3.
Disconnect all wires from the solenoid (3) (Figure 13-4, Page 13-6).
4.
Slide solenoid (3) up to disengage the mounting tabs and remove from component mounting plate.

SOLENOID INSTALLATION

1.
Mount solenoid (3) onto component mounting plate by engaging slot (Figure 13-4, Page 13-6).
2.
Using the wiring diagram, install the wires, pre-charge resistor (9), washers (8), and nuts (7) onto the large
mounting posts. Tighten nuts to 77 in·lb (8.7 N·m). (Figure 12-1, Page 12-4).
3.
Install the blue/white and light blue wires onto the small terminals of the solenoid.
4.
Lower cargo bed.
5.
Connect the batteries. See Connecting the Batteries – Electric Vehicles, Section 1, Page 1-4.
