Network Communication Setup

Network setup is essential before you configure control settings. You can configure basic
network settings in one of the following ways:

HCT 101 MK transmitter is not mounted to a grounded metal junction box, Extron
recommends connecting the unit to an earth ground to protect the unit from
electrostatic discharge.
Securely terminate a grounding cable
with a ring terminal.
Remove the grounding screw in the upper
right corner of the rear panel
Insert the screw through the ring terminal.
Replace and securely fasten the screw to
the rear of the unit. Do not overtighten the
screw. Maximum torque is 2 inch-pounds
(0.2 Newton-meter).
Connect the other end of the grounding
cable to an earth ground.
Via front panel controls and the OSD menu — a quick method to use whether or
not you need to configure other settings. This requires connection to a display device.
Via PCS software — a method that provides basic network configuration and is
convenient when you are ready to use PCS to configure AV settings. This requires a PC,
software, and a LAN or USB connection.
Via Toolbelt software — a method that allows you to configure additional connection
settings and is convenient when you want to configure additional device, password,
system, and control port settings. This requires a PC, software, and a LAN connection.
