6.5 REPLACING GRINDER BURRS

Rancilio recommends changing the grinder burrs every burrs every 100,000 - 120,000 Cycles. This
will help to increase the life of your grinder motors.
STEPS TO REPLACING THE GRINDER BURRS
1. Turn off the machine and unplug it
2. Remove the bean hoppers
3. Remove the top panel. PLEASE NOTE: this requires removing all 3 side panels of the machine, including
all associated screws.
GRINDERS WITHOUT AN INTERNAL ADJUSTMENT
4a. Remove the locking plate located on the grinder collar, by removing the two screws which hold it
to the upper grinder housing.
GRINDERS WITH AN INTERNAL ADJUSTMENT
4b. Remove the grinder adjustment by removing the two screws which hold it to the upper grinder
housing.
5. Unscrew the upper burr plate by rotating it in a counter-clockwise motion.
6. Remove the old burs, by removing the 3 screws on each burr; the upper burr plate that was
removed and the burr in the bottom of the grinding chambers. Please Note: the upper burr on the top
panel is different and new burr must match.
7. Clean the upper and lower burr pate.
8. Install new burrs.
9. Re-insert the upper burr plate into the grinder chamber.
10. Re-assemble the top plate and the side panels.
11. Turn the machine on and allow it to reach operating temperature.
12. Check the Grind, using the "Confi g 1/Grinders/ Tests menu.
13. Re-calibrate the machine to the beans using the grinder tests and your gram scale as described in
6.1.
