Configuring event behavior according to
FOUNDATION Fieldbus specification FF912
The device complies with FOUNDATION Fieldbus specification FF912. Among other things
this means that:
• The diagnostic category as per NAMUR Recommendation NE107 is transmitted over the
fieldbus in a format that is independent of the manufacturer:
• F: Failure
• C: Function check
• S: Out of specification
• M: Maintenance required
• The diagnostic category of the predefined event groups can be adapted by the user
according to the requirements of the individual application.
• Certain events can be separated from their group and be treated individually:
• 941: Lost echo
• 942: In safety distance
• Additional information and troubleshooting measures are transmitted over the fieldbus
with the event message.
Diagnostic messages according to FF912 are only available in the host if the Multi-bit
Alarm Support option is activated in the FEATURE_SEL parameter of the Resource
Block. For reasons of compatibility, this option is not enabled when the device is
delivered:
