4. Rotate the caster until wheel (A) is parallel to the
walking beam.
NOTE:
This will make moving the extensions easier.
5. Pull walking beam extension (B) out to the desired position
so that the holes in the extensions are lined up with the
appropriate bolt holes on the frame.
NOTE:
Walking beam extension (B) can be adjusted into three
working positions.
6. Install two retained M24 x 60 bolts and washers (C) on the
bottom of the beam. Do NOT tighten the bolts yet.
7. Retrieve two M24 x 60 bolts and two M24 flat washers
from the toolbox in the outboard side of the walking beam
and apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the bolts.
Install coated bolts and washers (A) as shown.
NOTE:
Depending on the position of the walking beam, the
outboard bolts may need to be installed first.
8. Retrieve two M24 x 60 bolts and and M24 flat washers and
apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the bolts.
Place support brackets (B) onto the walking beam as shown
and secure them with coated bolts and washers (C).
Do NOT fully tighten the bolts yet.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that support bracket plate (B) is parallel to the
walking beam.
9. Tighten the walking beam bolts as follows:
a.
Snug bottom bolts (A), then snug rear bolts (B).
b. Torque rear bolts (B) to 757 Nm (560 lbf·ft).
c.
Torque bottom bolts (A) to 757 Nm (560 lbf·ft).
IMPORTANT:
Torque the bolts a second time after 5 hours of operation,
and a third time after 10 hours.
