7.1 General
Model 5280D.1.IAC.PED compressors are supplied with the following:
Display panel carrying:
See appendix 3 for details on the PET SCAN Controller.
Terminals
Provided for connection to a suitable Star-Delta motor starter, pressure switches and solenoid
valves.
Interstage safety valves
Thermostatic water by-pass valve
Interstage coolers and separators
Drain trap on first stage
Diaphragm drain valves for 2nd and 3rd stages with actuating solenoid valve
Suction unloaders with actuating solenoid valves and a reducing valve
Intake filter/ silencer
7.2 Guidelines
Locate compressor in an area where air is clean and free from impurities. if this is not possible
remotely locate an air intake filter.
Thoroughly clean connecting ducting and internal pipework.
The compressor must have a suitable foundation., as a guide allow for a concrete base an extra 300
mm minimum all round the compression unit baseframe and typically a minimum depth 450 mm.
Please note this depth will depend upon the soil sub-base and should be confirmed by a local
authority. If a substantial floor is not available, construct a special foundation.
SEE Section "Anti-Vibration Mounts" for installation when isolation from other equipment or
structures is needed.
Position the compressor with a minimum of 1 m clearance on all sides to allow access. Do not
obstruct doorways, passages or walkways.
Some servicing will require heavy lifting equipment. e.g. overhead crane.
Ensure any such hoist is aligned above the cylinder centre line and above the motor centre line.
Provide clear lifting headroom of a least 1.5 m above the highest part of the compressor.
If the installation is above ground level, ensure that the floor is strong enough to carry the total
weight of the compressor and ancillary equipment.
The only Service connections are:
1. Air delivery outlet to user's pipework
2. Cooling water pipes
3. Electrical power supply: 3 ph plus earth
4. Condensate drain to the user's disposal system.
