OPERATION
Low pressure air (1st stage) is fed to a normally closed solenoid valve which when the compressor is running
is energised to the open position, this in turn holds the unloader valves closed by means of a diaphragm
pushing against the valve plates, these are connected ether to the separators or filtration units drain outlets.
On shut down the solenoid de-energises, air is shut off, any excess being vented into the casing. The
pressure on the diaphragms is released allowing the valves to open, air/condensate is discharged into the
casing/vessel and then into a suitable receptacle.
On start up, the solenoid valve re-opens and as the pressure builds up the valves close and the cycle
repeats itself on shutdown.
For continuous running a plug in timed drainage system can be used, a signal is passed to the solenoid
valve every 30 minutes this closes the valve for 5 to 6 seconds duration and allows the drains to blow all
condensate collected. Note: In HIGH AMBIENT/HUMIDITY AREAS it is recommended that the drainage
cycle time be more frequent contact CompAir UK Ltd - Customer Service Fax No. +44 (0) 1473 556027
for more details.
The solenoid re-opens for normal operation.
