2. Sending Scan Commands

(1) Acceptable/Unacceptable Documents

The following information pertains to what type of documents can
and can not be scanned with this product.
G Acceptable documents
• Use only standard sheet documents.
• Use only standard size document: 8 1/2" x 11" to 36" x 48"
[A4 portrait to A0]
• Use only documents of a paper weight: 64 g/m
• Use only documents of a length: 8 1/2" to 237" [210 to 6,000mm].
• Use only documents of a width: 8 1/2" to 36" [210 to 920 mm].

G Unacceptable documents
• Any documents other than those indicated under "G Acceptable
documents" above.
• Documents that are stapled or clipped together.
• Documents that are wet or have tape or glue on them.
• Documents that have an uneven thickness.
• Documents on which ink or correction fluid is not yet dry.
NOTE
Refer to the Operation Guide for your printer for information on
setting documents.

(2) Procedure (TWAIN/WebScan)

Perform this procedure in order to send scan commands from your
computer and scan documents using a printer with the KM-S4850w
installed.

Turn the main switch to the printer ON ( | ).
Warm-up will begin and "Ready to copy." will be displayed
once warm-up is complete.

Make sure that the Printer Data / On-line indicator is lit.

NOTE
It is possible to turn the TWAIN/WebScan mode ON using the
scanner's operation panel. Doing so will put the printer in a "waiting
to scan" state. Refer to "G Setting the TWAIN/WebScan mode" on
page 10-4.

Send the appropriate scan command from your computer.
