1 Message Display
Machine status and errors are indicated on the message display.
2 Original Image Type key
When scanning documents, press this key when you want to
select between the 2 available document types: "Normal" or
"Text/Line".
Image processing that is appropriate to the documents being
scanned will be carried out.
(When the Panel Operation mode is turned ON.)
3 Auto Exp. key
When scanning documents, press this key when you want to have
the scanning exposure set automatically.
(When the Panel Operation mode is turned ON.)
4 Light/Dark exposure indicators
• When the Light exposure indicator is lit: The exposure is set to a
lighter level than the standard setting.
• When the Dark exposure indicator is lit: The exposure is set to a
darker degree than the standard setting.
(When the Panel Operation mode is turned ON.)
5 Scanning exposure scale
The lit indicator shows the currently selected exposure for
scanning. When you want to lighten the exposure, move the lit
indicator to the left and when you want to darken the exposure,
move the lit indicator to the right.
(When the Panel Operation mode is turned ON.)
6 Scanning exposure adjustment keys (O) (P)
When scanning documents, use these keys when you want to
adjust the scanning exposure.
(When the Panel Operation mode is turned ON.)

This indicator is lit to indicate when the printer is on-line and goes

scanner operation panel is set to "Start key", press this key when
you want to initiate scanning.

Press this key when you want to cancel settings and return to the

Press this key when you want to stop printing or clear entered
values when performing various settings.
^ Roll Cut key
Press this key when a new paper roll is set. Also press to cut
paper roll by force during output and to cancel printing.
& Scan stop key
Press this key to stop immediately transfer of originals.
^ Paper Source (Width) key
Press this key when you want to designate the image
transmission size.
& Cut Size (Length) key
Press this key when you want to designate the image
transmission size.
