CHAPTER 4 BASIC OPERATING
1. Before starting action

(1) Initial state

When the main power switch of this printer is turned on ( ❘ ) (and warm
up is complete, the machine is ready to copy. This state is called initial
state and the screen displayed in this state is called basic screen.
The machine also enters the initial state when the auto clear function
is activated or the Reset key is pressed.
Be sure to ensure that the machine is in the initial state before
copying.
When the auto clear function is activated, however, the exposure
display will not return to the initial setting.

(2) When the Energy Saver indicator is lit

When the Energy Saver indicator is lit and other indicators are off on
the scanner operation panel, the machine is in the energy saver
mode. When the Energy Saver key is pressed, the following message
is shown in the message display.

When "Copy" is selected, printer will begin to warm up. Screen will be
changed to´ copy operation once warm up is completed.
When "Scanner" is selected, screen will be changed to scanner
operation under energy saver mode.

CAUTION
If the machine will not be used for a short period of time
(overnight, etc.), turn the main switch OFF (O). If it will not be
used for an extended period of time (vacations, etc.), remove
the power plug from the outlet for safety purposes during the
time the machine is not in use.
