10.1 - Mounting the Y724
Ensure that the vehicle battery is disconnected before any installation work commences.
§
Ensure a solid ground connection for the device.
§
Secure the device to an interior surface using the Tek Screws provided; these have been tested
§
by Gatekeeper Systems and are approved for mounting.
Mount the device in the vehicle's cabin area where there is environmental control (i.e.
§
heating and/or air-conditioning) to extend the operational life of the Y724.
The fan (located under the device) must have unobstructed airflow to enable proper cooling.
§
Allow at least 6" of clearance to allow for effective cooling.
DO NOT
orient the device such that the drive caddy handle faces the floor of the vehicle.
§
Ensure that the device is mounted where it is not easily accessible by non-authorized
§
personnel.
When a system has shipped with a GPS antenna, please ensure that the GPS antenna is
§
mounted externally on the roof of the vehicle with a clear view of the sky, and with the
magnetic side facing down.
10.2 - Camera Mounting
Cameras should be mounted near the ceiling whenever possible.
§
The microphone hole on the front of the camera can be used as a line-of-sight guide to
§
position the camera.
