11 - Using the COMRAD™ Docking Station
The Y724 makes use of a dual COMRAD™ hard drive enclosure designed to work in tandem with
the COMRAD™ Docking Station (optional) to facilitate in the downloading and sharing of video
files. The Docking Station will connect the Y724's hard drive enclosure (and its hard drives) to a
PC or laptop for use in administering recorded video files.
The following components are located on the
front of the docking station:
1. USB connector port,
2. Power indicator LED,
3. HDD activity LED,
4. 12V DC power port (not used).
The rear of the docking station includes a
pinned connector that is used to connect with
the hard drive enclosure.
To use the COMRAD Docking Station:
1. Power down the Y724 device and remove its hard drive enclosure.
2. Connect the hard drive enclosure to the docking station using the pinned connector
found on the rear of the docking station.
3. Ensure that the USB connector cable (included) is plugged into the front of the docking
station's USB connector port.
4. Connect the docking station's USB connector cable to a USB port on a PC or laptop.
Connecting the docking station to a PC or laptop will provide power to the docking
station.
5. Launch Gatekeeper System's G4 Viewer Plus
application. The hard drives contained in
the hard drive enclosure (and connected by
the docking station) will appear, and can be
accessed using the G4 Viewer Plus
application.
