Swing initiation – activation of hip flexors

Start with prosthetic side (stance phase)
•
When going in to swing with prosthesis –"kick" the ball
–
Active use of hip flexors
–
Keep lateral trunk muscles relaxed
–
Spend as little effort as possible during "kicking"
×
Avoid lateral hip hiking
A good stance phase is a prerequisite
for a good swing phase!
