■ ■ ■ ■ DIAGNOSTICS ON NETWORK
This program is used to check the LAN communication function with
two units of the UP-5900.
For checking, a cross cable of UTP enhanced category 5 is required as
well as two units of the UP-5900.
For execution, use the cursor key (UP 2 and DOWN 4) and Enter key to
select "Run Diagnostics" 3 "Run Diagnostics On Network" on the main
menu.
In Diagnostics On Network, one unit of the UP-5900 is set as the initia-
tor and the other as the responder. To execute the program, execute
"Set Up As Responder" on the main menu of the responder unit before
executing "Set up As Initiator" on the main menu of the initiator unit.
When the LAN functions of the units and the cable connection are
proper, the initiator unit displays "Packet Transmitted OK" and the
counter of "Packet Received OK" counts up. On the other hand, "Tk
OK" and "Rx OK" counters of the responder unit count up.
4) MAC ADDRESS WRITING PROCEDURE
■ ■ ■ ■ MAC ADDRESS WRITING TOOL (PG8139.EXE) EXECUTION
ENVIRONMENT
To set the MAC address of the UP-5900, "PG8139.EXE" and
"8139C.CFG" (configuration file) are required.
The MAC address must be written after "NoteID=" on the first line of
"8139C.CFG" by using a text editor.
The lower 6 digits of the MAC address is indicated on the seal attached
as shown in Fig. 4. The upper 6 digits (08 00 1F) is common to all the
units.
*Do not load any device drivers when using this program.
*To operate other application after performing this program, re-boot
the machine.
The first line to the third line of 8139C.CFG
NodeID = 08 00 1F 11 B9 4E

PROCESS
Place PG8139.EXE and 8139C.CFG in a same directory. Type
"PG8139.EXE/pci" to execute the program. If the program is properly
executed, the following display of execution is shown.
"NodeID" in 8139C.CFG is automatically incremented every time when
the program is executed. When, therefore, "PG8139.EXE/pci" is exe-
cuted again, "08 00 1F 11 89 4F" is displayed.
