Removing the valves

Take off the camshafts and clean the parts.

Remove screw plugs
-
Screw appropriate screw
-
Hold cam levers

If the cam levers will continue to be used, note down their installation posi­
tion.
-
Take the shims out of the valve spring retainers and lay them to one side accord­
ing to their normal built-in position.
-
Pre-tension the valve spring using the special tool.
Valve spring mounter (59029019000) (,... p. 261)
Insert for valve spring lever (77229060000) (,... p. 265)
Remove the valve keys and unload the valve spring.

Remove the valve spring retainer and valve springs.
-
Pull the valve down out of the valve guide.

Remove valve stem seal

Pliers for valve stem seals (77229010000) (,... p. 264)

Remove valve spring seat

Mark the valves according to their normal built-in position.

Place the valves into a box according to the installation position and label
the box .
