10.3.3.1.10.2 Setting the Module Time via OPC UA
Requirements
• You must have an OPC UA client.
• You must know the username and password and have write permission.
• You must know the IP address of the NTP server.
• You must have converted the IP address of the NTP server into a decimal number as
described below.
• You must have already established a connection to the module.
Example for an NTP Server
The NTP server ptbtime1.ptb.de of the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology in
Brunswick, Germany with IP address 192.53.103.108
Alternate NTP server (optional) ptbtime2.ptb.de of the Federal Institute of Physics
and Metrology in Brunswick, Germany with IP address 192.53.103.104
Converting an IP Address to a Decimal Number
Use the following formula to convert the IP address to a decimal number. For an IP ad-
dress in the format "A.B.C.D.":
((A × 256 + B) × 256 + C) × 256 + D = IP address as decimal number
Example for IP address 192.53.103.108:
((192 × 256 + 53) × 256 + 103) × 256 + 108 = 3224725356

1. In the Address Space window, open the context menu:
Root > Objects > DeviceSet > [device name] > Configuration >
NtpClient > NtpClientUpdateConfiguration.
