8.1 Error messages and faults
The electronic control system on the STERIclave B will check the various phases
of the sterilisation process whilst they are in progress and monitor each component
for error-free operation. Malfunctions during program execution will be detected by
the STERIclave B. Users will be alerted to errors by the appearance of a corre‐
sponding message and the sounding of an acoustic signal.
In the tables below, the error codes have been listed systematically in the Fault
column.
Error codes can be classified in accordance with the following features:
▪ "NEED TEST" error messages indicate faults which need to be checked but will
not cause a program to be aborted.
▪ "FAIL" error messages indicate faults which will cause a program to be aborted.
The Alarm LED lights up.
▪ Class B error messages only occur during drying and are only relevant for the
Sterilize 1, Sterilize 2, Special S1, Special S2 and Special S3 programs.
▪ Non-specific error messages are error messages without specific common fea‐
tures.
