2.3 Safety instructions

2.3.1 General information

Improper product maintenance or repair
Damage to product
▶ Repair and maintenance work may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
▶ Only use original KaVo spare parts.
The KaVo product is not permitted to be used in areas subject an explosion hazard.
The unit may only be operated in enclosed spaces by competent personnel.
Users have a duty to:
▪ Only use equipment that is operating correctly
▪ to protect himself, the patient and third parties from danger.
KaVo cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by:
▪ External factors beyond its control, poor media quality or defective installation
▪ The use of incorrect information
▪ Repair work carried out incorrectly

2.3.2 Product-specific

Following sterilisation, instruments will be hot.
Touching hot objects may result in burns to the skin.
▶ Leave instruments to cool following sterilisation.
Trays and tray holders will be hot following sterilisation and the pre-heating phase.
Touching hot objects may result in burns to the skin.
▶ Avoid contact. Always use a handle to remove trays.
▶ The unit must only ever be cleaned when cold.
Tap water contains calcium.
Calcium can reduce a product's service life.
▶ Only use distilled or demineralized water.
