158 Configure the initial parameters

To select the template and startDN

You set the Template and Start DN using Feature **STARTUP.
Please refer to your Norstar documentation for information on using Telset Administration to set
these parameters.
Other telephony startup parameters are configured using Feature **CONFIG. Refer to the
documentation for this feature for more information.

To initialize voice mail

You initialize your voicemail system using Feature 983.
Please refer to your Norstar documentation for information on using Telset Administration to set
this parameter.

To create user accounts

Enter Login.

Enter Password.
4 Press NEXT to scroll through the menu and highlight User Accounts.
5 Press OK. The Accounts screen displays.
6 Press NEXT to scroll through the list of available accounts to create.
7 Press CHNGE to change status of the current account.
8 Press CRT to create the account.
If you see the DEL command instead of the CRT command, then the account is already
created.

Press BACK. The Accounts screen displays.
10 Press NEXT. The passsword screen displays.
11 Press CHNGE to change the password.
12 Press NEXT to scroll through the list of available accounts.
13 Press CHNGE to change the password for the selected account.
14 Enter the new password for the account.
15 Enter the new password again to confirm it.
