2.0 Marine Diagnostics
ELECTRONIC SHIFT CONTROL – ESC
Select Load :
1–IDLE AIR CONTROL
2–ELECT SHIFT
3–ELECT THROTTLE
Press the 2 key.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE
BOAT IS SECURELY TIED
TO DOCK/TRAILER
PRESS 1 TO CONTINUE.
Press the 1 key.
ENGINE MUST BE IN
NEUTRAL AND IDLING
FOR THIS TEST.
CONTINUE? 1=YES 2=NO
Press the 1 key.
THE ENGINE WILL SHIFT
FROM NEUTRAL TO
FORWARD THEN BACK
TO NEUTRAL
Press the
key.
NOTE: This test will only function with the engine running in neutral.
If the ESC (electronic shift control) on the engine does respond to this
test, then diagnose the wiring or sensors between the ECM and the
shift switch. Refer to the electrical wiring diagram in the service manual
if needed.

THEN TO REVERSE BACK
TO NEUTRAL.
PRESS 1 TO CONTINUE
Press the 1 key.
SHIFT POSITION
PRESS MODE TO CANCEL
The shift position screen will
update from NEUTRAL to
FORWARD, to NEUTRAL
and then to REVERSE and
finish the test back to the
NEUTRAL position.
THE ECM RECEIVED A
PASS RESPONSE FROM
THE ESC.
PRESS 1 TO CONTINUE
Press the 1 key.
5 SPECIAL FUNCTIONS

NEUTRAL
DID THE ENGINE SHIFT
GEARS?
1=YES 2=NO
Press the 1 key.
THE ECM RECEIVED A
FAIL RESPONSE FROM
THE ESC.
OR
PRESS 1 TO CONTINUE
