1.0 Introduction

TRANSFERRING DATA TO A PC

It should be noted that the PRINT function can be used to transfer the
formatted print data to a PC. The following example uses Windows
3 , but any DEC VT–100 terminal emulation program can be used.
NOTE: You can use the existing serial printer cable, however, you
may need to use a DB25 Null Modem adaptor plug and/or a DB25 to
DB9 adaptor plug if required by your PC.

Use OTC cable (p/n 212535) and connect between the DDT
printer port and the PC's COM1 port (or an available serial port).

Set up the Windows terminal emulation program on the PC to
capture the print data into a file as follows:
a. Select the Accessories Icon.
b. Select the Terminal Icon.
c. From the menu bar, select Settings – Communications. Set the
communications parameters as follows:
d. Select OK.

Make sure the DDT baud rate matches the terminal baud rate. This
can be done from the Tool Setup Function. Select 1 – General
Setup and set the following:

From the Windows terminal menu bar, select Transfers –
Receive text file. You will then be asked to assign a filename.
(File name you wish to upload from the cartridge. For example,
OG123456.txt) Important – the file must have a ".txt" extension.
Select OK when entered.
