DC Power Interconnect

The redundant interconnect is made up of the PEM1 and PEM2 feeds. The first feed (-48V_A) is
sourced from the PEM1 on the left-hand side (as viewed from the front of the shelf). The
second feed (-48V_B) is sourced from the PEM2 on the right-hand side. Both feeds are
individually routed to each ShMC, fan tray, node and user card slot. In both interconnects, the
FRUs are expected to OR the two sources to allow for redundancy.
The PEMs are current limited by breakers at 30A.
For the blades, power is distributed as defined in the PICMG 3.0 Specification. The following
figure illustrates the power distribution system as it pertains to the FRUs found in the two-PEM
shelf.
