Fabric Interface
The fabric interface connects the ATCA slots and the user card slots as follows:
The two ATCA slots are directly connected via their fabric channels 1.
ATCA slot 1 (lower slot, physical slot number 1) is connected to user card 1 via its fabric
channel 2.
ATCA slot 2 (upper slot, physical slot number 2) is connected to user card 2 via its fabric
channel 2.
The fabric interface is fully compliant to the PICMG 3.0 R3.0 Specification and the 10GBASE-KR
standard. Therefore, details are not described within this chapter.

5.2.3
Update Channel
The update channel connects the two node slots. It is comprised of 10 differential signal pairs
capable of bit rates up to 3.125 Gbits/s each in a point-to-point connection. For further details
refer to the PICMG 3.0 R3.0 specification. The blades may use those lines for their proprietary
purpose.
